Lenovo also announced a series of accessories, including a self-charging Bluetooth keyboard. The keyboard is equipped with solar cells that can draw energy from ambient light to charge the supercapacitor inside, eliminating the need for batteries or plugging it in to recharge.

While Lenovo’s new computers and Legion gaming devices will get all the attention, the manufacturer also offers a number of interesting accessories, such as a self-charging Bluetooth keyboard. The device, which was the subject of a first leak a few weeks ago, is made from 95% post-consumer recycled plastic. However, what makes it interesting is that it would not need to be recharged.

Lenovo’s self-charging Bluetooth keyboard features photovoltaic cells that allow it to power itself from ambient light. It also features a fast-charging supercapacitor that replaces the traditional battery, just like the HP Rechargeable Keyboard and Mouse The HP Rechargeable Keyboard and Mouse. Unlike a traditional battery, a supercapacitor can store energy at high capacity and charge incredibly quickly.

Lenovo claims the keyboard can last up to 45 days in a completely dark environment before needing to be recharged. When the energy runs out, simply recharge it for two minutes under a light source with an intensity of 300 lux to make it usable again.

The Lenovo keyboard is also spill-resistant, has adjustable tilt legs, dedicated media controls, and a three-zone layout with on-screen brightness indicators. Using Lenovo Accessories and Display Manager, users can also track device power in real time.

The keyboard also features Bluetooth 5.1, Microsoft Swift pair support, and multi-device support (up to 3 devices). It is compatible with ChromeOS, Windows 10 and newer versions, macOS, iPadOS, iOS and Android.

Lenovo’s Self-Charging Bluetooth Keyboard will be available in May 2025 for $69.99. It will be available in two colors.
