This new season of VERMONT has 10 episodes and features workers from all key sectors of the iron chain. This documentary series is set in the Mont-Wright mine, in Port-Cartier and along the railway line to meet new characters and introduce people to hitherto little-known professions, yet essential in this great daily ballet.
A few familiar faces from the series are also back. The scalers, these spider-men who must secure the rock walls along the 420 km railway line linking Fermont and Port-Cartier, are working this time in the most picturesque sector of the railway. In front of breathtaking landscapes, suspended by a rope a hundred meters in the air, the valiant workers, who do not lack self-deprecation, carry out delicate, unprecedented missions. Between two ore trains, viewers are invited to discover new essential professions along the railway line.
At Mont-Wright, there is work for real equipment ambulance drivers, troubleshooting technicians, and industrial mechanics, who engage every day in a race against time to ensure that the elephantine machines are functional at all times. And in Port-Cartier, where the ore wagons are unloaded, before it is sent by boat around the world, an incursion into the back rooms of trains and locomotives.
