Lenovo will indeed market its rolling screen laptop

As is customary at each CES, Lenovo launched the heavy artillery by presenting a rather frightening number of new laptops for all budgets and for all tastes. However, there is one that stands out for a very good reason: the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 Rollable includes a roll-up screen!

There is always a shortage of space on a laptop, even the largest ones. To solve this squaring of the circle, Lenovo has a solution: a drop-down screen. This is the main, astonishing feature of the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 Rollable, whose 14-inch screen unfolds upwards to display a total surface area of 16.7 inches.

2.7 inches that make the difference

Simply press a key or wave your hand in front of the computer camera to save almost 50% more space. It is also a possible solution to avoid neck pain, with such a raised screen, your entire posture improves! According to Lenovo, the screen can be unrolled and rolled up 30,000 times without worry.

On the other hand, the drop-down screen and its mechanism necessarily thicken the ThinkBook a little which, closed, measures almost 2 cm thick compared to 1.54 mm for a 16-inch MacBook Pro. However, it’s not as big as a gaming laptop.

The technical sheet of this Thinkbook includes, in addition to its OLED screen (brightness of 400 nits), up to 32 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage, a battery with a capacity of 65 Whr, two Thunderbolt 4 ports, a jack port, support for Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. It can be equipped with a maximum Intel Core Ultra 7 chip, all for a weight of 1.69 kg.

The laptop, which has been in development since at least 2023, will go on sale in the second quarter, starting at $3,499.
