Samsung is preparing to democratize its foldable smartphones with the Galaxy Z Flip FE, a more accessible version of its iconic phone. According to recent information, this new model should reuse a component from the Galaxy Z Flip 6 to optimize its production costs.

According to renowned supply chain analyst Ross Young, the Z Flip FE will feature the same AMOLED panel as its big brother: a 6.7-inch screen displaying a definition of 2640 x 1080 pixelswith a variable refresh rate of 120 Hz and one maximum brightness of 2600 nits.

The external screen should also remain identical to that of the Flip 6, a decision that could disappoint some users, especially compared to the Motorola Razr Ultra which offers a more advanced front display for a lower price. However, this decision could well be good news for the price of the smartphone. By using the same screen as the previous device, Samsung could thus make savings with the stocks already available, and pass these savings on to the final price. The Galaxy Flip FE thus arrived at a more affordable price, as is already the case with all previous Galaxy FEs.

When will Samsung’s Galaxy Flip FE be released?

The launch is planned for the end of the second quarter of 2025, probably during second Galaxy Unpacked event of the year. The smartphone, identified under model number SM-F761B in the GSMA database, would mark Samsung’s first foray into the affordable foldable segment.

Initially, the Z Flip FE was to feature the Exynos 2500 processor. However, production difficulties could force Samsung to opt for a Snapdragon chip. This decision is reminiscent of the recent case of the Galaxy S25 series, where the company presumably had to abandon the Exynos 2500 in favor of the Snapdragon 8 Elite.
