A teenager crashed into a police check with a modified motorcycle. His father tried to avoid consequences by tampering with the vehicle.
A young person was caught during a traffic stop with a tampered moped. The police found that the scooter, a Puch Maxi S, was reaching a speed higher than permitted thanks to unauthorized parts. The boy’s father, a 44-year-old from Aargau, then tried to deceive the police in order to spare his son from punishment, reports the “Aargauer Zeitung”.
At the end of March, the Lenzburg regional police carried out a traffic stop, during which the disguised moped was seized and taken to a garage for examination.
The father of the offender, who apparently did not agree with the police procedure, went to the workshop the same day. There, he made modifications to the machine himself in order to conceal the increase in power.
Consecutive costs of more than 4700 francs
First, the father replaced the carburetor jets, but this had little effect. To further reduce the power, he fitted an air filter with a narrowed fresh air hose. These manipulations were to result in a loss of power, as specified in the criminal ordinance.
-The public prosecutor sentenced the father for favoritism to a suspended financial sentence of 30 days, a fine of 110 francs, which represents a total of 3,300 francs, as well as a bond fine of 600 francs. In addition, costs and disbursements amounting to 835 francs were incurred.
Separate proceedings are underway against the son in the juvenile court.
