Leak reveals Samsung’s cost-cutting plan for Galaxy Z Flip FE

Samsung is reportedly working on a budget foldable phone, the Galaxy Flip FE. It should be more affordable than the Z Flip 6 but look exactly the same. Now a new leak suggests it will use the same screen as the Flip 6.

Previously, this affordable foldable phone was rumored to feature the same screen as the Z Flip 7. However, given that the Flip FE will be a budget offering, it would make more sense to use the screen of the generation foldable phone current, as this would reduce manufacturing costs.

This information comes from display analyst Ross Youngif this information is correct, the Galaxy Z Flip FE will feature a 6.7-inch foldable AMOLED LTPO inner display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a coverage of 3.4 inches with a refresh rate of 60 Hz.

There is no new information on other specifications of the phone, but another cost-cutting measure Samsung is expected to take concerns the SoC. While the Z Flip 6 was equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the FE could be equipped with the Exynos 2400 Exynos 2400. The Z Flip FE would thus offer the same level of performance as the Galaxy S24 series phones equipped with Exynos .

As for the launch, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip FE is expected to launch in late Q2 2025. It could launch at a price of around $700 (Razr+ 2024 256GB, $799.99 at Amazon) .
