Huawei is probably preparing to release a new model in the Pura series – the Pura 80 Ultra. Although the official presentation of the device is not expected before the second quarter of 2025, Chinese sources, including Digital Chat Station, have already shared details about the cameras of the future smartphone.
Here’s what we know
Huawei Pura 80 Ultra is rumored to feature a 50MP main camera with a 1-inch sensor and variable aperture, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a powerful periscopic telephoto lens with a sensor of 1/1.3 inch which will offer significant optical zoom.
These characteristics allow the model to become a strong competitor among smartphones with a high-quality camera for photography and video recording.
These are not final specifications, as the Pura 80 Ultra is still in the technical testing stage. It is therefore to be expected that the specifications will be changed before series production begins. Previous experiences show that Huawei aims to create a powerful flagship camera, focusing on advanced technologies in the field of mobile photography.

The Huawei Pura 70 Ultra, the predecessor of the future smartphone, was also equipped with a powerful photo system, including a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 40-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens and a 50-megapixel telephoto lens with autofocus.
Coming to the other features of the Pura 80 Ultra, the smartphone is expected to feature a 6.8-inch curved display and the latest Kirin 9020 chipset, which is also used in the Mate 70 series. The official announcement of the Pura 80 Ultra is expected to take place in mid-2025.
