The Dongying A3 is a new projector currently promised to supporters in the crowdfunding campaign https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/823237370/dongying-a3-versatile-projector-with-a-smart-touchscreen/comments for a contribution of $209. Potential buyers are advised to consider the financial risks of such crowdfunding campaigns, not only in general, but also specifically in this case, as we are almost certain that the Dongying A3 will not come with the advertised specifications.

The A3 is the manufacturer's first crowdfunding campaign and the price seems extremely low considering the specifications. The company may have overestimated the brightness, among other things. More specifically, the manufacturer indicates that the brightness is 3,000 ISO lumens and 3,750 ANSI lumens, very high values for such a device. According to Dongying, it is possible to project an image size between 40 and 450 inches – a projection diagonal of 450 inches is within the range of professional projectors.

The contrast ratio is 15,000:1 and the native resolution is 3840 x 2160, which is practically impossible at this price. The projector is equipped with a Full HD touchscreen, intended to simplify the selection of multimedia content and the display of weather forecasts or the time.

Android OS installed is 9, so access to Play Store should be possible. Encapsulated optics are announced, meaning dust shouldn't be a problem. Thanks to the supplied bracket, the projector can also project on the ceiling. Finally, two integrated 10 watt speakers allow the device to be used as a Bluetooth speaker.

If you are looking for a comparable and proven projector at a similar price, we advise you to take a look at the WiMiUS K9 smart projector.
