Say goodbye to this time-saving feature

A new disappearance notice for a Windows 11 feature. Published for the month of December, it concerns suggested actions which had been introduced during version 22H2 of the operating system.

« The suggested actions that appear when you copy a phone number or future date in Windows 11 are obsolete and will be removed in a future Windows 11 update », Indicates Microsoft.

The depreciation is not further justified. There is no longer support or development for this feature, but there is no specific date for its effective removal.

Suggested actions too discreet?

Two years ago, Microsoft introduced Suggested Actions as a menu and a way to speed up everyday tasks in Windows 11.

« When you copy a date, time, or phone number, Windows suggests relevant actions for you, such as creating calendar events or making phone calls with your favorite apps. »

It's difficult to know if the enthusiasm was there, but Microsoft's desire is perhaps also to turn the page in favor of contextual actions animated by AI. For example, with Click to Do on Copilot+ PC.
