Google’s artificial intelligence is gradually being deployed on the iPhone. As a reminder, Gemini has been available on iPhones for a while, via a special tab on the Google application. But recently, the firm also launched an application dedicated to its AI on the App Store. And one of the benefits of this app is that it provides access to Gemini Live, a feature similar to ChatGPT’s advanced voice mode, which allows you to chat in an ultra-natural way with artificial intelligence.
A new icon on Google Search?
But Google does not stop there, since it is already preparing another AI functionality for the iPhone. In an article published this week, the Android Authority site indicates that while searching the Google application for the iPhone, it discovered a new pencil icon in the search box. By pressing on it, we would be redirected to a new interface with a new text field which offers us to describe what we are looking for in detail. And when using this feature, Google would offer some sort of filters to refine the search (price range for a product, occasion for a gift idea, etc.), while a Gemini icon appears, indicating that the AI is generating suggestions. Then Google displays search results that match the query.

A feature in beta?
At the moment, this feature has not yet been officially announced. And according to Android Authority, it can sometimes have bugs. Therefore, it is very likely that this is still a test, but not a real launch. But in any case, this shows Google’s desire to offer its intelligence everywhere, even on the products of its rival Apple.
This may be a good thing, since Google could eventually offer an alternative to Apple Intelligence, on devices that are not compatible with Apple’s AI.
- Google already offers Gemini AI on iPhone and recently it launched an application that allows you to use Gemini Live, a feature that allows you to have natural interactions with AI
- Recently, Android Authority discovered another Google AI feature for the iPhone
- In essence, on the search engine, it will be possible to describe with natural language what we are looking for on Google
- But for the moment, it seems that this new feature is still being tested in beta.
