SACEM: New authorization and pricing rules for free music broadcasts on board TRVs

As the year 2025 approaches, OTRE has decided to renew its partnership with the Society of Authors, Composers and Publishers (SACEM). On this occasion, SACEM updated, as it does every year, the general rules governing the authorization and pricing of free musical broadcasts on board passenger road transport.

These rules issued by SACEM apply specifically to free musical broadcasts on board tourist coaches, vehicles used for school, public or business transport, urban buses, small tourist trains, tourist speedboats and tourist buses.

Music broadcasts can be carried out by various means such as television, radio, CD, DVD, Mp3 players, multimedia sets and embedded servers.

It is important to note that certain exclusions apply, including music broadcasts in the driver’s cabin. Furthermore, musical broadcasts during dance sessions, shows or concerts, involving the participation of artists and performers, fall under separate rates which are not covered by the general rules of SACEM.

The general authorization and pricing rules for the year 2025 are accessible only to OTRE members in the Resources page – Partnership section).
