New student video projection in the Latin Quarter

A new student video projection, called Blue hourwill illuminate the facade of the Design Pavilion from December 22 to January 22, 2025. This light work, made possible thanks to the collaboration of the Quartier des Spectacles Partnership, was designed by eight students enrolled in four different baccalaureate programs, brought together by the Fantasy Laboratory of the School of Design.

Different artistic approaches – stop-motion animation, visual programming and dance – were used to celebrate the blue hour, that fleeting bluish moment between day and night. Five short videos make up the projection, which illustrates the creativity and complementarity of know-how within the baccalaureate programs in graphic design and visual experiences, in dance, in visual and media arts and in communication – interactive media.

School of Design professors Nelly-Ève Rajotte and Janice Nadeau, co-directors of the Fantasy Laboratory, are the instigators of this collaborative creation.

The team of students responsible for the video projection is made up of Charlotte Beaulieu (communication – interactive media), Xavier Charron (communication – interactive media), Marie Di Caro (visual and media arts), Marie-Anne Girafe (dance) , Younesse Moubarik (communication – interactive media), Camille Reynaud (graphic design and visual experiences), Émile Rouillard (graphic design and visual experiences) and Rosalie Turcotte (dance).
