Meta v11 software update for Ray-Ban smart glasses can now use Live AI, which allows Meta AI to constantly see what users are seeing and provide real-time contextual help through commands vocals.

Users can ask questions without using the “Hey Meta” command, and Meta AI remembers things you may have mentioned earlier in the conversation. Users can interrupt the conversation at any time to change the subject or ask follow-up questions. The app will also learn the user’s habits and eventually “give useful suggestions before you even ask for them”

Live Translation translates speech into English, Spanish, French or Italian in real time. When interacting with someone speaking another language, users can hear real-time translations from speakers or view transcriptions on a connected phone.

Live AI and live translations are available to members of Meta’s Early Access program. Meta clarifies that “these AI functions are not always correct” and that the Early Access program is limited to the United States and Canada.

In addition to these features, Meta also announced the integration of the music recognition service Shazam. Users can find the name of a piece of music by saying “Hey Meta, what is this song?” in the United States and Canada.
