The rumor is not really new, but it takes on very significant weight today. Indeed, certain information has just been released by the Wall Street Journal which rarely goes wrong. According to the WSJ, Apple is preparing to revolutionize its range with foldable iPhones and an ultra-thin model from 2026. Devices inspired by advances in Samsung and Google.
Two foldable iPhones
The Cupertino company is apparently working on two foldable devices. A first smartphone which, once opened, will offer a larger screen than the iPhone 16 Pro Max. On the other side, we find a 19-inch hybrid device intended for use similar to that of a laptop. A kind of iPad, like what offers for example Lenovo.
These foldable devices, expected for several years, will undergo technical improvements, particularly in terms of hinges and screens to avoid visible folds. Like what we find for example at Motorola or Huawei.
An ultra thin iPhone
In parallel with all this, the giant Apple is planning the launch of the iPhone 17 Air in 2025. A thinner model than current phones. This iPhone will be more affordable than the Pro versions. It will be aimed at those who want to gain space and design. It will obviously be less efficient than a Pro.
Apple is starting to run out of steam in certain markets, particularly in China where competition is tough. It is high time for the firm to dare inwards and to differentiate themselves just a little bit.
