In one week, 53 additional cases of dengue fever were reported to health authorities. Among these “ 26 people were sampled or reside in Tahiti, 5 in Moorea, 3 in Bora Bora, 2 in Huahine, 4 in Maupiti, 1 in Raiatea, 1 in Ua Pou and 7 in Rangiroa ”, according to data from the Health Monitoring Office which notes “ an increasing trend (…) in the Windward Islands, the Leeward Islands and the Tuamotus “. 2 new clusters have also been identified: the first in Raiatea and the second in Arutua.

4 new hospitalizations were recorded and “ a case of maternal-fetal transmission was reported in a newborn at the CHPF “. However, no deaths have been reported since the start of the epidemic in November 2023.

Whooping cough also continues to circulate actively with 27 new cases confirmed in one week, mainly in Tahiti.

« 4 are infants under 12 months old – 2 of whom were hospitalized -, 2 are children between 1 and 4 years old, 9 are people between 5 and 19 years old, 10 are between 20 and 79 years old », Reports the Health Monitoring Office. “ A downward trend in the overall incidence as well as the positivity rate » is however noted.
