The Xiaomi Redmi Pad Pro is a convincing tablet that really reveals its full potential when accompanied by a keyboard. Precisely, it is currently included in a pack with this accessory, all at 279.99 euros instead of 359.99 euros at Fnac and Darty.

Recently arrived on the market, the Xiaomi Redmi Pad Pro tablet is a more advanced and efficient version of the manufacturer’s 2022 Redmi Pad. A model that is even more high-end, and which offers sufficient performance for office and productivity uses. This tablet even intends to compete with the iPad Pro, while displaying, without much surprise, a much more accessible price. Today, it is even included in a pack offered for less than 280 euros, with its keyboard.

What you need to know about the Xiaomi Redmi Pad Pro

  • A 12.1-inch 2.5K LCD panel + 120 Hz
  • A Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chip
  • A 10,000 mAh battery

Initially offered at 359.99 euros, the pack with a Xiaomi Redmi Pad Pro (Wi-Fi, 6 GB + 128 GB) and its keyboard is now available on sale at 279.99 euros at Fnac and at Darty.

A pretty tablet with a well-designed screen

In terms of its design, the Xiaomi Redmi Pad Pro tablet resembles its predecessor, the classic Redmi Pad, with its slightly shiny matte gray back and its almost completely flat edges. Only the arrangement of the photo sensors really differs: on this Pro version, they are much better integrated, which gives this rear panel a more refined, elegant and even premium appearance. On the front, the borders are unfortunately a bit thick, but for this price, this concession is not surprising. The Redmi Pad Pro can also be clipped to a keyboard, also included in the pack. An accessory that allows you to type text comfortably, thanks to its sufficient size, and which can even be used on your knees. The Bluetooth connection is also very fast.

On the screen side, the Xiaomi Redmi Pad Pro has a 12.1-inch IPS LCD panel with a definition of 2.5K (2,560 x 1,600 pixels), which also offers an adaptive refresh rate of 120 Hz. We therefore have a screen with very open viewing angles and very pleasant fluidity. We would have liked OLED for a so-called Pro model, all the same, but we can’t have everything at this price. Xiaomi also announces a maximum brightness of 500 cd/m² and up to 600 cd/m² in peak HDR; it’s not huge, but again, in this price range, it’s pretty common. This tablet at least has the merit of being Dolby Vision compatible, which improves image quality.

Endurance that makes you happy

On the software side, it is HyperOS which takes place in the Redmi Pad Pro, and not MIUI. This revamped interface is based on Android 14 and notably offers a multitasking mode which works very well. The tablet, especially when connected to its keyboard, can then become a real productivity tool, certainly less powerful than a laptop PC, but much more practical. Small downside all the same on the two years, only, of Android updates…

Regarding its performance, the Redmi Pad Pro contains a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chip from Qualcomm, engraved in 4 nm and coupled with 6 GB of LPDDR4X RAM. A configuration which allows the tablet to be sufficiently fast for most uses, despite some slowdowns, which are not very annoying. Finally, the Redmi Pad Pro is reassuring about its autonomy, thanks to a 10,000 mAh battery. A considerable capacity, therefore. The brand promises up to 12 hours of video playback, and fortunately it is respected. In terms of charging, the tablet went from 10% to 100% in 1 hour, during our test. That’s a good speed, for a device of this type.
