The Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Pro has had a facelift this year. The second generation of this electric scooter is therefore much more efficient, and currently, we can already find it cheaper: 399 euros instead of 549 euros.

It was last spring that Xiaomi unveiled the new version of one of its flagship electric scooters, the Electric Scooter 4 Pro. More powerful engine, greater autonomy, addition of indicators… This second generation is decidedly more efficient and reassuring. It is also significantly cheaper than usual: it benefits from a reduction of 150 euros.

What you need to know about the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Pro 2nd gen

  • Maximum power of 1000 W
  • A range of 60 km
  • Turn signals on the handlebars

Launched at 549 euros, the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Pro (2nd gen) electric scooter is now available at 399 euros from Boulanger.

A safer scooter

At first glance, the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Pro 2nd gen isn’t that different from its predecessor, with both sharing a very similar design. But looking closer, we can see that the brand has made some major changes. First, the handlebars of this electric scooter are now equipped with indicators, which are activated as soon as you press the direction change button. A more than reassuring addition. The automatic headlight and rear light are still present.

Concerning the frame, it was made of very resistant carbon steel and can support a load of up to 120 kg. Who says solid material, also says greater weight: the Scooter 4 Pro 2nd gen still weighs 19 kg, compared to 16.5 kg for the first version. It is therefore not a lightweight, so beware of intermodal travel, even if its folded frame is easier to transport. Concerning the tires, here we are entitled to 10-inch tubeless models which absorb shocks better. Their surface area has also been widened from 54 mm to 60 mm, which improves grip while giving us a more stable ride.

Much more power

One of the major changes made by Xiaomi to this scooter is at the motor level. While the first Scooter 4 Pro had a motor with a nominal power of 350 W and a maximum of 700 W, that of this second iteration delivers a nominal power of 400 W and peaks at 1,000 W. An increase which allows users to climb slopes of up to 22% (compared to 20% for the previous model), depending on the brand. Three speed modes are also offered, modes that can be selected on the screen. On the braking side, a drum brake on the front wheel and E-ABS on the rear wheel reduce the braking distance.

Finally, in terms of its endurance, the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Pro 2nd gen claims a range of 60 km, even if we generally reduce 30 to 40% in practice by traveling at 25 km/h. In comparison, the first generation is theoretically capable of driving for 45 km before needing to be recharged. Moreover, to be recharged to 100%, the Scooter 4 Pro 2nd gen will have to wait 9 hours.
