From the avenue Anatole-France in Roubaix (North), we could predict in view of some installations, that something was going on in this second week of December 2024. After the set teams had installed everything the previous days, a filming took place in a house very close to the Barbieux Park. Lille news was able to witness the recording of a scene, where a whole small crowd – around forty people on site – acted under the direction of the director Stéphanie Pillonca.
Between organization and creativity
For two days, Thursday December 12 and Friday December 13, scenes were filmed in this Roubais house. In the fiction, it is the house of a couple, played by Arié Elmaleh and Charlie Bruneau, and their daughter, played by the sparkling Leontine.
This Thursday at the end of the morning, the actors are in the kitchen. They are available to technicians so that they can make adjustments. It’s the excitement between each take. In the room, but also nearby: light, sound, decor, makeup… Each of the forty people on site knows their role. In the living room armchair, where the fictitious takes precedence over the real (fake family photos, chosen books, added plants, etc.), Stéphanie Pillonca is installed. She observes the screen, where we perceive what is being recorded. Alongside the screenwriter, she analyses, comments, projects things. Above all, she corrects, encourages, shares her impressions with her team.
“Let go, have a little fun,” she advises Arié between takes, who never misses an opportunity to make the people around smile. “Motor…” Everyone positions themselves and waits for the famous “action”, before fully entering into their role. And the result is stunning! No more a sound, no more a wrong step: everything is put at the service of fiction. And we are immersed in the scene, with this northern family, one morning, at breakfast time…
Several weeks of filming in the North
It’s a great adventure that took place launched in October in the North. Scenes were filmed in Lille, at the florist Vert Mousse, and in a house in Marcq-en-Barœul in particular. In all, 22 actors and actresses are mobilized on this fiction, of which Gil Alma, Eléonore Bernheim, Nicolas Briançon et Arianne Mallet.
Stéphanie Pillonca is delighted to participate in this adventure… in the North where she has been called several times for production projects. She shot the touching ones there Invisible summer et It’s you I was waiting for. More recently she followed Axel Allétru for a documentary coming in 2025, called Holeshot.
I was excited to come back to the area. Everyone is motivated for this project!
“We are always well received, and the teams are very good, technically,” shares the director, who insists on the fact that many Northerners are involved in the filming of this series. “It’s a filming location, we can see that clearly,” relates the professional, supported by the Region and Pictanovo in this France TV project which mobilizes some 150 people in its entirety. She also took part in welcoming young people in training on set. They study at the Séries Mania Institute, which strives to provide qualifying modules so that its graduates are immediately operational.
A France TV series full of beautiful values and humanity
This Monday, the New Year’s scene will be filmed locally with many extras, before a break for the holidays. Filming will continue at other locations in January. The director of this series of 6 episodes of 52 minuteswritten by Sarah Tissandier and Fabrice de Costil and called “In beautiful sheets”, was seduced by the scenario. Here is the pitch: “The Blanchets are on the verge of accessing the holy of holies of the upper bourgeoisie when they find themselves ruined and deprived of resources. Unable to cope with this decline, they will gradually move to the dark side of the force to keep up appearances… finding in their incredible and dangerous double life an unexpected backlash. »
” It is a positive series, with a beautiful message, beautiful values», she introduced us. It is for this family the opportunity to understand that beyond financial success, human values are essential. And that these unexpected events in life provide the opportunity to adapt and bounce back.
What more beautiful land than the North to carry these values? The answer is almost natural: none.
