In the Challenger Pro League, two matches were already scheduled for Friday evening. La Louvière, among others, came into action and they had to win to keep the pressure on Zulte Waregem.
Until last weekend, La Louvière and Zulte Waregem were co-leaders with 32 points, but due to the bankruptcy of KMSK Deinze, Essevee is now the leader with 31 points and La Louvière actually follows in second with 29 points.
So it’s up to them to score a deserved three-pointer when they visit Seraing in a Walloon derby. Gillot gave his team the lead halfway through the first half, 0-1 was also the halftime score.
Quick goals are decisive
At the bottom of the rankings there was another important match between Beveren and Lierse. With a win, both teams could provisionally enter the top 6, which entitles them to a place in the play-offs.
Dries Wuytens made it 1-0 for Beveren halfway through the first half on a pass from Servais. That was also the halftime score on the Freethiel.
In both matches nothing changed after coffee, although Beveren had to finish the match with nine. Beveren and La Louvière are doing great things in the rankings. Zulte Waregem plays at Lommel this weekend.
