We will probably have to be patient a little longer before seeing the Switch 2 in the flesh. The latest rumors point to a release around June 2025.
If there is one console that has been particularly eagerly awaited recently, it is probably the Switch 2. The new version of Nintendo's hybrid console has been unleashing all the passions for many months, even a few years. While waiting for Nintendo to deign to provide information on the subject, rumors are circulating widely in the small video game world.
The latest comes to us from the Spanish-speaking site NintendoDuo which, after interviewing sources within at least 6 development studios, affirms that the release of the Switch 2 could be expected between June and July 2025.
Another 6 months of waiting
With a launch around this period, Nintendo would benefit from the major video game events of the summer (and in particular the Summer Game Fest) and could start the second half of the fiscal year with a bang. This would also allow the first Switch of the name to quietly begin its end of life and, perhaps, surpass the sales record of the PS2.
Samus Hunter, another specialist in indiscretions from Nintendo, explains having had almost the same echoes concerning the release date of the console, with a small subtlety nevertheless: a release in May would be possible if Nintendo manages to produce enough consoles to discourage scalping until then. Either way, the console appears to be heading towards a market arrival sometime between late spring and early summer 2025.
A Switch 2 for more than €400?
Until then, the most dedicated fans will ideally have time to put a little money aside, since the Switch 2 would be surprisingly expensive according to the latest rumors. Persistent information seems to point to a price between €400 and €500 for the future console.

How much will the Nintendo Switch 2 cost? Our analysis and estimation
If Nintendo has always had difficulty selling consoles above €400, console prices have soared in recent years. The Switch 2 and its relatively high-end features could therefore be sold much more expensive than the first version of the console. A price between €399 and €449 probably to be expected.
