The Courrier du Sud | 100% autonomous video studio: a unique concept accessible in Longueuil

Olivier Lambert is above all an enthusiast. The man who started out as a blogger in 2012 founded the company Les Bunkers four years ago, 100% autonomous video studios, including one which recently opened its doors in Longueuil. The 33-year-old entrepreneur is beginning to surprise and, above all, to attract a diverse clientele fond of this visually spectacular new technology.

Mr. Lambert completed a bachelor’s degree in communications in Trois-Rivières, worked in the marketing sector before launching his own online training company. He has technical but also very broad interests, such as video production, photography, programming, design.

The purpose of the concept of its studios? Delivering excellent image and sound quality at a low cost, while delivering a near-ready-to-broadcast video and sound editing experience, all very quickly.

All processes are automated, from lighting to sound to camera shots.

Its goal is to revolutionize the way podcasts are made in Quebec, using artificial intelligence to mechanize the production process.

According to Mr. Lambert, who is the only employee of his company, this is an avant-garde concept in the industry.
“Definitely, we are changing the way podcasts will be done in Quebec, that’s a certainty. Particularly on the ease and credibility of the podcast with or without a guest,” he says.

Camera shots are automatically created based on active and proactive microphones. It’s the same thing for sound, thanks to the almost perfect precision of artificial intelligence algorithms.

The studio is equipped with a state-of-the-art projector as well as a canvas. So users can instantly find themselves in a professional office, a living room, or even on the top of a mountain, without the need for editing, Mr. Lambert explains.

A boon to explore

According to Research Nester, the global podcast industry generates revenues of $32.1 billion with annual growth of 15%. In addition, according to Up City, 34% of companies have between $1,000 and $10,000 budget to allocate to video production.

Olivier Lambert therefore sees this as an opportunity to exploit. He also reveals that he is preparing other projects. In particular, its objective in 2025 will be to use an artificial intelligence algorithm allowing it to detect the position of the face and to orient the cameras, so that the user does not have to ensure that their framing be good.

The cameras will therefore always be 100% perfect, explains Mr. Lambert. The camera will automatically follow the movement of the person in front.

Aims at New York

For the moment, Olivier Lambert is mainly targeting Quebec, then New York later. More specifically, it aims to target advertising or communication agencies, SMEs, businesses and individuals.

“What is very advantageous for all our current customers is that this concept is capable of creating a significant quantity of videos in real time and over the long term,” underlines Mr. Lambert.

The Longueuil studio is the company’s 4th to open its doors.
