Chassis, connections, screen of the HP Envy x360 16-ad0000nf
Openable 360° to transform into a tablet, this 2-in-1 laptop has an elegant, discreet and original look thanks to its light silver aluminum design with a sandblasted anodized finish.
The screen adopts multi-touch touch technology thanks to which you can interact with the system and the main software by simply applying at least one finger on it, using gestures/pressures.
Due to its touch technology, the screen has a glossy treatment which gives punch to the colors but is sensitive to reflections in a bright environment (eg outdoors).
The screen also stands out with its OLED DCI-P3 specifications ensuring much more faithful colorimetry than average with great black depth and significant vertical and horizontal viewing angles. But also a minimal latency which, associated with the frequency of 120Hz higher than the 60Hz standard, reinforces the overall fluidity.
The screen is also distinguished by its 2.8K definition superior to Full HD suitable for High Definition content while its 16:10 format displays more elements in height than the classic 16:9 format.
As an infrared technology webcam is integrated, you can authenticate by facial recognition using Windows Hello technology.
For those most concerned about their privacy, it is possible to close the webcam when not in use.
On the right of the chiclet keyboard we note the absence of a numeric keypad, a feature that is standard from 15 inches. Those who often enter numbers may deplore this.
In any case, we can obviously backlight the keys of the chiclet keyboard to better discern them in the event of limited ambient light.
This versatile 2-in-1 laptop PC integrates good connectivity including 2 USB-C, Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi 6E ax wireless modules for communicating and connecting remotely, a useful HDMI video output for easy connection to a monitor or a TV for example, an audio port but also 2 USB 3.0 (USB 2.0 compatible) guaranteeing transfers up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0 when connecting USB 3.0 devices.
Performance, autonomy of the HP Envy x360 16-ad0000nf
The HP Envy x360 16-ad0000nf may be of interest to those who wish to equip themselves with a thin and light High Definition High Fidelity laptop in a comfortable format that can be converted into a high-performance tablet in terms of processor.
It is in fact driven by an AMD Hawk Point Zen 4 Octo Core Ryzen 7 8840HS processor in which the Radeon 780M graphics module is housed, associated with 16 GB of RAM.
This core delivers good overall power which will delight demanding users, particularly creators. Because this core notably ensures much faster processing than a classic Quad/Hexa Core and 8 GB DDR4/5. We clearly feel the difference in areas that are intensive in CPU and RAM resources and take advantage of multi-core, such as photo editing or video editing.
However, no more GPU acceleration of multimedia processing since no dedicated graphics card is on board.
However, thanks to the Radeon 780M we can watch HD photos and videos. But also play light to modest games… if you agree to adjustments such as reducing the screen definition.
Because more graphics calculations are necessary in 2.8K than in Full HD, which results in a lower number of fps.
In any case, the storage is up to par since it is entrusted to a 1 TB SSD, a significant capacity capable of housing multiple software and files including personal creations.
Let's take this opportunity to recall the advantages provided by an SSD compared to a hard drive: greater shock resistance, lower energy consumption, silent operation or even greater speed.
The SSD therefore provides much better fluidity and responsiveness on a daily basis than a hard drive.
Thanks to the SSD, multimedia processing is carried out more quickly, as are the starts/stops and launches of applications, and we can access online game cards more quickly.
Finally, in terms of autonomy while waiting for more concrete tests, count on around 6 hours on battery in light use, enough to interest some people looking for a versatile hybrid 2-in-1 student laptop PC that performs well in everyday use of large format whose finesse and the contained weight makes it as easy to carry as an Ultrabook.
Also expect heat and noise when this laptop convertible into a tablet is pushed hard (e.g. processing).
We can also use a ventilated support to contain its temperatures (remember to check the dimensions carefully!).
