Several players are experiencing major connection issues on Xbox and with Microsoft’s online service, Xbox Live. Xbox customer service has confirmed a major outage that has been ongoing since early this evening. Players may have difficulty connecting or launching certain games.

When an outage occurs on Xbox Live, we immediately see it on the Xbox Live status page. Xbox has just updated its statuses, there is indeed an ongoing issue.
You may not be able to sign in to your Xbox profile, whether it’s signed out while you’re signed in or you’re having other similar issues. Features that require sign-in, such as most games, apps, and social activity, will be unavailable.
There are several of you who cannot play on Xbox tonight. If you encounter technical problems, know that the teams are already aware and are working to resolve the problem. Unfortunately, we do not know how long this will take. The problem was detected around 8 p.m. and at 10:10 p.m., the Xbox teams say that they still need to investigate further.
