Asus has just made official the VivoWatch 6, a new smartwatch that aims to be at the forefront in terms of connected health. To do this, it is loaded with numerous sensors to measure you everywhere.

The manufacturer is better known for its laptops, or even its smartphones, but it also sells smartwatches. Asus is back on the market with the VivoWatch 6, as the company announced on its website.

What does this Asus connected watch offer?

The VivoWatch 6 offers a 1.39-inch Amoled screen with a definition of 454 by 454 pixels and protected by Gorilla Glass. The brightness indicated on the technical sheet: 350 cd/m². Among the advantages that it intends to offer, there is the presence of dual-band GPS.

All this for a weight of only 60 grams. On the wrist, we should expect a battery life of up to 14 days (without measuring blood oxygenation, without wearing it while sleeping and in energy saving mode), or 9 days in normal use during the day.

The connected health features of the Asus VivoWatch 6

Where this watch stands out is in the health measurements it is capable of performing. In particular, it can measure body composition (i.e. fat mass, muscle mass, water quantity or even the skeleton and organs) using a bioelectric impedance sensor (BIA). A function similar to what the latest Samsung watches offer. The traditional electrocardiogram (ECG) is naturally included, and can monitor heart rate variability (HRV). The watch also includes a blood pressure measurement, again like the Galaxy Watches, but also like the Xiaomi Watch H1 and the Huawei Watch D. Remember that Apple is also working on a measurement of this type for its future Apple Watch .

There is also a photoplethysmographic (PPG) sensor in the VivoWatch 6, which can also measure heart rate. The Asus smartwatch offers the Body Harmony function, to indicate a ” daily emotional state “. There’s also Care Track, an app to check the real-time health status and location of someone in your family. If this raises questions of privacy and espionage, Asus imagines it for families caring for the elderly.

Asus VivoWatch 6 Price and Availability

Asus has unfortunately not communicated on the release date of its VivoWatch 6. But we know its price: 130 euros. A good price considering the technical sheet (especially for the connected health functions) offered by this model.
