Cécile is well into her thirties, and the desire is not to give birth, but to donate her eggs to help someone else do so. What she doesn’t realize is that this journey will also be a journey within herself, and that helping a family will make her question her own. Cécile has a mother whom she calls Maman, another mother whom she calls by her first name, a father whom she dreams of being a florist or trapeze artist, and a stepfather who is not very paternal. An original family constellation to say the least in the 1980s where his childhood took place. From appointments with the psychologist to daily hormone injections, each stage of his egg donation brings back his memories, and we observe him carry out a much-needed introspection to move forward. The subject is touching, sometimes funny, subtly underlined by the play of lights. It’s a simple and sincere story like we would like to hear more often.

The Trajectory of Gametes – Espace Saint Martial, 2 rue Henri Fabre. Until July 20, closed on Sundays. Prices €12 / €18. Information and reservations 04 86 34 52 24
