What happens when a part-time custom motorcycle builder, a Porsche 911 enthusiast, and a Triumph Bonneville Bobber meet? A masterpiece on two wheels is born. Chris Scholtka, firefighter by day and motorcycle builder by passion, created an incredible Triumph Bobber to match his client’s collection of iconic sports cars. With custom upgrades, lowered aesthetics, and a performance boost, this bike isn’t just a ride—it’s a statement.
The Perfect Pairing: A Bobber and a Porsche
Chris Scholtka, operating under the Motocrew banner, received an exciting order from a customer whose garage is a sanctuary of high-performance automotive excellence. Among a BMW M2, a Mercedes-AMG GTR, and an S-Class, the centerpiece was a lowered Porsche 911. The customer wanted a two-wheeler that reflected the same premium appeal, aggressive stance, and impeccable craftsmanship. Enter the 2019 Triumph Bonneville Bobber, chosen as the donor motorcycle for this ambitious project.
Design and Suspension: Lower, Meaner, and Slender
The bike’s transformation started with its suspension. Scholtka collaborated with Touratech to design a custom rear shock, lowering the Bobber closer to the ground for a slammed look. At the front, the forks have been subtly shortened to achieve a balanced stance.
17-inch Excel wheels, with spokes, combined with Shinko tires (120/70 at the front, 180/55 at the rear), replaced the original rims, giving the bike a sportier appearance . To complement this, wave-style EBC brake rotors have been added for superior stopping power.
Minimalist Bodywork: Form Meets Function
Stripping the bike of its excess, Scholtka retained only the fuel tank and side covers from the original bodywork. Custom touches, such as a custom subframe and a hidden outer sleeve, added a muscular aesthetic. A slim yet luxurious black Alcantara saddle and 3D-printed LED taillight assembly completed the sleek rear design.
Performance Improvement: More Than Just Appearances
The Bobber’s 1,200cc parallel-twin engine received a performance upgrade courtesy of a Raisch Stage 5 kit, paired with a custom exhaust system wrapped in Thermotech heat insulator. After dyno tuning and a post-photoshoot ECU remapping, power was increased by 29 horsepower, delivering smoother power delivery throughout the rev range.
Final Finishes: Painting and Accessories
To reflect the customer’s Porsche, the Triumph was painted in a stunning shade of silver with black accents on the tank. The matte black details contrasted with the glossy-finish Excel rims for a striking visual effect. Premium components, like a Koso LED headlight, Motogadget turn signals and a pop-up fuel cap, further enhanced the bike’s neo-retro charm.
Conclusion :
Chris Scholtka’s Triumph Bonneville Bobber is more than a motorcycle—it’s a harmonious blend of art, engineering and passion. Designed to complement a world-class car collection, it is a testament to the limitless possibilities of custom builds. For the owner, this custom Bobber isn’t just a means of transportation; it is the ultimate companion to his Porsche 911 and an extension of his automotive identity.
