Google will take inspiration from Apple to integrate a new functionality into Android. This will allow indicators to be displayed to materialize the movement of the vehicle. Enough to fight against transport illnesses.

With iOS 18, the Cupertino company introduced a new feature aimed at reducing the hassle of traveling in vehicles. These are caused by a sensory difference between what the user sees and what he feels. To limit this effect, or even eliminate it, the functionality displays animated black points on the edges of the screen. These imitate the movement of the vehicle. Thus, the user’s brain can understand changes in direction, braking and acceleration, while using their smartphone.

Google is inspired by this to develop a similar functionality for Android. By wanting to integrate it directly into the OS, it will avoid smartphone owners having to go through a third-party application like KineStop. It was Android Authority which spotted a few lines of code in the 24.46.30 beta version of Google Play Service. These clearly display a notion aimed at “showing visual cues to alleviate motion sickness”.

Of course, as the Mountain View firm has not officially presented this new feature, we do not yet know when it will be deployed.
