Windows is rolling out a new update for its operating system allowing its users to access important information directly from their taskbar.
Microsoft continues to enrich its user experience. After announcing to its users that they will be able to perform certain updates without restarting their machine, Windows is this time attacking the taskbar to integrate new information grouped under the name « Microsoft 365 Companions ».
Everything just a click away
At its Ignite conference taking place in Chicago this week, Microsoft is unveiling new features for its system. On stage, Pavan Davuluri, vice president in charge of Windows and its products, presented the experience « Microsoft 365 Companions ».
“We will integrate your contacts, files and calendar into your taskbar in Microsoft 365 Companions so that your data is just a click away”indique Davuluri.
If Microsoft has not returned in more detail to this famous experience, given the first images obtained during the conference, we could end up with a new range of widgets which would be natively integrated into the taskbar.
The Verge tells us that the presentation window is reminiscent of the panels that we could find for the “Connected Mobile” application with this ability to be able to interact directly with a contact list vocally, but also in writing .
It remains to be seen with which applications these “companions” will be compatible. If we can immediately think of Teams or Outlook for contacts and the calendar, we can hope to be able to personalize these tools a little more, but for that we will have to wait for an official release.
