Xbox Cloud Gaming games are coming to Amazon Fire TV Sticks in July, thanks to the Xbox for TV app.

L’application Xbox pour TV will soon no longer be exclusive to Samsung TVs. Indeed, Microsoft has just made official the availability in July of hundreds of titles playable in the cloud via the future Xbox application for accessories Amazon Fire TV Sticks.

Amazon’s Fire TV Sticks are HDMI sticks that cost a few dozen euros and that plug into all modern TVs and projectors. They provide access to the FireOS interface, based on Android, which allows you to download many applications. Today, Xbox and Amazon are announcing excellent news for gamers who want to try Xbox games without buying a console: the availability of the “Xbox Cloud Gaming” catalog via an “Xbox Game Pass Ultimate” subscription at €14.99 per month.

The Xbox app, which will be available in 25 countries, will support the Fire TV Stick 4K and Fire Stick TV 4K Max models starting in July. In addition to this accessory, you will need a Bluetooth-compatible wireless controller and an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription to stream games using Cloud Gaming. A stable and fast internet connection is obviously recommended to get the most out of it.

This is a major milestone for Microsoft, making part of the Xbox game catalog available on almost all TVs. Until now, the Xbox app for TV was exclusive to certain Samsung models. The Xbox app is also available on Meta Quest VR headsets. Ashley McKissick, head of Xbox experience and platform engineering, confirms the company’s multi-platform strategy:

“Over the past few years, we’ve set out to bring cloud gaming to more devices and more people around the world […] We are excited to add Fire TV to our growing lineup of cloud gaming devices and look forward to welcoming new gamers to the experience.”
