A great technical feat, the Bravia Theater Bar 9 manages to make a more compact and premium copy than the HT-A7000, while retaining the excellent sound quality and impressive spatialization of its predecessor. But by wanting to oversimplify the ergonomics, Sony strips away its creation a little too much, which now only presents rickety connectivity and a surprisingly simplistic interface.
NB: The reported price drop is calculated by comparing the lowest price of the day with the average of the lowest prices charged by all merchants for the product last month, with security rules to exclude the prices of stores whose the VAT policy is not clear (so-called “gray” stores, typically in the case of imports from China).
An alternative
Why change a winning team? Already exceptional in 2023, Samsung’s high-end soundbar is being renewed in a 2024 version that is just as powerful and immersive. The HW-Q995D goes even a step further than its predecessor by allowing gamers to take full advantage of their consoles with support for 4K/120 Hz video.
