A big step forward compared to the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6
Like every year, Samsung releases its new product ranges, including connected watches. With the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7, the brand offers subtle but beautiful and present modifications, especially at the software level. In terms of design, if you know the Samsung Galaxy Watch, you won’t be disoriented: a round Super AMOLED screen which displays 480 x 480 pixels, operation under Wear OS… In short, nothing new under the sun.
The bracelet has changed, though: it’s a silicone model with small waves and, on the plus side, you can change it with any 20 mm wide bracelet with a standard quick release pump system. Where things change is at the level of components and sensors, in particular the new BioActive cardiac sensor. It is wider and incorporates 13 LEDs instead of 5, which allows for much more precise measurements.
A watch that will catch the eye of all athletes
All these sensors, the accelerometer, the sleep analyzer, the pedometer, the heart rate sensor and the heart rate monitor, are there to help you track your general health and your progress when you play sports. One of the new features of this version is to offer a scoring system which is calculated based on the data collected. This is made possible thanks to the introduction of AI in the watch, Galaxy AI.
The smartphone app then gives you some advice to improve this score by focusing on the points that are a little weak. Samsung missed out a little on the GPS tracking of this watch, however, you should know this because it tends to overestimate the distances traveled. In terms of autonomy, it does not work miracles and remains average, with 31 hours of use on average, and 1h35 to charge it to 100%. Oh, and also: it is completely incompatible with iOS. But if you have an Android smartphone, particularly a Samsung (to take advantage of the ECG and blood pressure monitor), you will take full advantage of it.
