Tired of always seeing the same thing on your news feed? Instagram has the solution for you. Meta’s social network has launched a new option that allows you to reset the algorithm to your liking.

Instagram is introducing a new tool called “recommendations reset” that allows users to clear the platform’s suggestions in Explore, Feed, and Reels. This tool gives users the ability to start their browsing preferences from scratch.

After the reset, Instagram’s algorithms will rebuild suggestions based on new interactions. Although this option initially reduces personalized recommendations, it helps users regain control over what they see.

The reset process is simple and accessible through the app settings. Once selected, Reset clears patterns formed over time and returns suggestions to a neutral state. Instagram’s algorithms will gradually adapt to new preferences based on future interactions.

Along with this, users can view their follower lists and unfollow accounts that they no longer find interesting. This cleaning makes it possible to streamline flows and highlight more relevant content.

Instagram warns that the reset could temporarily reduce engagement on the platform. Nonetheless, this tool is intended for users who are looking for a better way to manage their feeds and content.

The platform already includes tools like the “Not Interested” option and word filtering features, allowing teens and parents to control what appears on their screens.

Instagram’s Transparency Center also outlines the safety measures it uses to restrict content that is inappropriate for young users.
