“But how did you get there? “. It was with these words full of surprise that a British hiker was moved by his encounter with a dog at an altitude of 4,600 meters during a climb in Peru. Told by “El güero ingles” (the English blond) on his TikTok account, the story is barely believable. While this young man was trying to reach the Punta Union pass, he lost his group, finding himself isolated. That’s when he crossed paths with a stray dog.

Lost and surrounded by clouds and fog, the walker says he was able to count on the dog to guide him to the pass. “You decide. But if we get lost, it will be your fault,” explains the young Briton in his video. And they didn’t get lost! In the images, we can see the animal and its new friend reaching the 4,750 meters altitude of Punta Union, a pass allowing passage from the Santa Cruz valley to the Huaripampa valley. The hiker kept the “perrito” (small dog in Spanish) by his side until he returned to base camp.
