We mentioned above, the Pixel 8 Pro offers a larger display than its younger sibling. However, both mobiles rely on Oled technology supplemented by LTPO which allows their refresh rate to be varied up to 120 Hz.
The definition of the 8 Pro is 2990 x 1344 pixels for a resolution of 489 ppi, while that of the 9 Pro, 2856 x 1080 pixels, allows it to benefit from a resolution of 496 ppi.
The more recent of the two smartphones also wins the brightness battle, as it is capable of reaching 2056 cd/m² under our probes, while its predecessor does not exceed 1563 cd/m² (which is obviously already very good). The first concedes a little more than 44% reflections, and the second slightly more than 45%. Suffice to say that the Pixel 9 Pro wins the battle of readability down to the wire.

The point does not belong to him however. The Pixel 8 Pro actually benefits from even better controlled calibration with a temperature of 6715 K in natural mode, as well as a lower minimum brightness. This is what allowed him to win this second round.
