New information on Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories and the Dreamed Land

New gameplay details on Gust and Koei Tecmo’s upcoming JRPG, Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories and the Dreamed Land. We can also discover the new illustration by artist Benitama and get a glimpse of the adventure that awaits us in a brand new trailer.

Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories and the Dreamed Land follows the adventures of Yumia Liessfeldt and her companions as they attempt to unravel the mysteries of the cataclysm that destroyed the once great continent of Aladiss, turning alchemy into a taboo. Mysterious figures obsessed with this science, such as a black-cloaked nobleman, a monocular werewolf, a witch with sheep-like eyes, and a dragon-winged warrior, stand in Yumia’s path .

To prepare for the adventure that awaits them, players will have to rediscover the synthesis system characteristic of the Atelier franchise in a new form by manipulating “mana” to create new objects useful for combat or exploration. To create more powerful items, players will need to master the art of “Resonance Synthesis” by adding ingredients that resonate with each other to the “alchemy core” of the recipe. The strength of the resonance will depend on the quality of the ingredients selected.

The combat system has also been revised in Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories and the Dreamed Land to deliver intense real-time combat with intuitive gameplay. The skills available to team members active in combat depend on the distance that separates them from the enemy (close or ranged combat). Compared to previous installments, players can now move or swap their characters at any time during combat. When certain conditions are met, a powerful “Friend Action” combo can be triggered during combat. By meeting certain conditions, players will be able to activate the “Mana Increase”, which will allow them to perform exclusive actions. Additionally, each character will have a unique special move, “Maximized Mana Surge”, which can deal considerable damage to enemies.

Alongside Yumia and her friends, players will explore the vast open world of the Aladiss continent. As they move, they will be able to build their own bases. With the new “Build” feature, fans will be able to freely create and decorate their workshop from a wide choice of walls, floors, roofs, furniture and more, or choose a predefined base model from the catalog. By increasing the “comfort level” of their workshop, the player will unlock bonuses such as the ability to expand their base and improve the skills of Yumia and her companions.

Finally, if the player does not wish to return to their base during exploration, they can establish a camp where they can spend time cooking, which will provide them with various advantages during exploration and combat, or rest . Certain character events will occasionally occur that are exclusive to camps, allowing players to learn more about Yumia and her companions.

In addition to the standard edition, players can pre-order two special physical editions: the PREMIUM BOX edition which includes the base game*, an artbook, a fabric poster of size B3 (35.3 × 50 cm) with an original illustration , a CD with additional tracks and the exclusive early access costume for Yumia “Alchemist on His Day Off”. The SPECIAL COLLECTION BOX edition includes all the contents of the PREMIUM BOX edition as well as a scarf in the style of the Aladiss research team’s bandana, an A1 size tapestry (59.4 x 84.1 cm) with an original illustration, a set of 6 decorative key rings, a set of 6 special transparent binders, a special sticker sheet, Yumia’s precious plush toy, an official short story and the accompanying translation booklet.

Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories and the Dream Land will be available on March 21, 2025 on Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Windows PC via Steam and, for the first time in the franchise’s history, on Xbox Series S and Xbox One.
