Apple has barely elaborated on the subject, but one of the most interesting new features of iOS 18 is the support for RCS in the Messages app which will facilitate exchanges between owners of iPhones and Android smartphones. However, you will have to be patient before taking advantage of it.

Apple’s announcement of RCS support last November surprised everyone, the company having in the past said on several occasions to what extent it did not care (sometimes with a certain haughtiness) about this standard pushed by Google and a much of the industry. The operator settings must indeed be updated and for the moment, very few have done so: in the United States, AT&T and T-Mobile are already there.
However, operators still have a little time ahead of them. The final version of iOS 18 will ship this fall, probably in September.
