SHAWINIGAN. The Carrefour jeunesse emploi (CJE) in Shawinigan is putting forward its 100treprendre podcast for a second season.
The first season of the podcast had nearly 1,700 views. Timothée Langlois, entrepreneurship project officer at Carrefour JEunesse, met 10 new entrepreneurs to discuss their journey and to gather essential advice related to issues specific to starting a business.
The target audience is young people aged 16 to 35 from Shawinigan who want to embark on an entrepreneurial adventure, but the audience is tending to expand. Although the project was initially aimed at young people in our region, the podcast is now used almost everywhere thanks to other agents in the CJE network in Quebec. The podcast is also intended to be an educational tool that can be used by teachers of the entrepreneurship awareness course.
This second season allows us to better understand the reality experienced by groups under-represented in entrepreneurship, such as young people, women or newcomers. “Starting a business already has its share of challenges, but we tend to underestimate the additional obstacles that may be imposed on some people. I wanted to dedicate episodes to these themes to raise awareness among young people and show them that there are also competitive advantages that come out of it,” mentions Timothée Langlois.
The podcast will be broadcast every two weeks on YouTube, Apple Podcast and Spotify starting Tuesday, October 15. The first two episodes will be previewed on October 9 during a happy hour in the common area of La Criaillerie.
