First of six Mario & Luigi games to be released on a home console, the Switch in this case (therefore half living room), “The Brotherly Epic” begins with a separation. Carried away by a sort of vortex, the two brothers lose sight of each other.
Mario lands in a strange territory and meets some cute characters who obviously need his services. He will end up quickly finding Luigi, because it is a game where the two mustachioed men must combine their strength in order to triumph. On the program: exploration, encounters, obstacles and adversaries that will have to be defeated in turn by turn. There is also talk of drifting islands which will be brought together in the same magical ecosystem.
Nintendo game requires, “Mario and Luigi – The Brotherly Epic” is nice, pretty and neat. We recognize the quality of the work without being carried away either by its graphic charter or by its gameplay. If we exclude some slowdowns in the animation, the adventure nevertheless takes place without major problems.
There is no doubt that fans of colorful role-playing games with good-natured humor, but also requiring a certain dexterity, will be able to find in this title the sparks that have escaped us.
