WhatsApp announced the addition of a new feature that had been long awaited by its many users: draft messages. Until now, when writing a message in a conversation, if it was not ultimately sent immediately, in the event of distraction for example, it could be forgotten. Now it will be saved as a draft and chats with unfinished and unsent messages will be highlighted. They will in fact be positioned at the top of the list with a “Draft” notice displayed in green and a preview of the incomplete message. All you have to do is reopen the conversation to resume writing the message where it left off before sending it.
“WhatsApp now has drafts, making it easier to find and send unfinished messages,” wrote Mark Zuckerberg, boss of the Meta group, on his WhatsApp channel. “We all needed it,” added the billionaire, who also recently launched into an unexpected rap duo.
The new functionality is gradually being rolled out to the iOS (iPhone) and Android versions of the popular instant messenger. It is thus catching up with competing apps, such as Telegram, which already offer a similar functionality.
