Google has partially revised the Fitbit application on smartphones. Enough to offer not only a better interface for weight monitoring, but also new functions for sleep monitoring.
Since its acquisition of Fitbit in 2021, Google has regularly offered updates with new scores – such as the new daily fitness score – but also new features.

On version 4.30 of Fitbit on Android, Google has significantly revised the interface for managing the user’s weight data. While version 4.29 of the app still used Fitbit’s previous design codes, the new one is closer to the rest of the app.

In addition, weight management will also make it possible to display not only the evolution by month, quarter or year, but also over a day.
New, more contextual sleep tracking
On the sleep management side, version 4.30 of the Fitbit application now offers a new functionality “ Sleep Lab ”, or “sleep laboratory”.
This function is in fact part of Fitbit’s experimental proposals, as part of Fitbit Labs. As the application indicates, it should allow “ summarize the links between your sleep and elements of your daily experience (context, emotions and behavior)».
Concretely, in addition to traditional sleep monitoring, the application may ask you to enter certain data to allow you to better understand how your daily life affects your sleep.
