Like certain electronic messaging tools that manage emails, such as Gmail and others, WhatsApp has a new draft system. This is automatically activated when a message remains unfinished. The app now displays a green “Draft” indicator on affected conversations.
For quicker access afterwards, the latter are even placed at the top of the list. This makes it much easier to pick up a message exactly where you left off, without having to go through the conversation history.
Operation and availability
The feature is accessible on iOS and Android, requiring only a simple app update. The system automatically recognizes unsent messages and stores them in memory. A preview of the message is visible directly in the conversation list, making it easy to quickly identify the content to complete.
We can thus exit the application more calmly if we are called by a notification from another application requiring our full attention.
This new feature adds to a series of recent improvements to the application, notably the introduction of “Personalized Lists” allowing conversations to be categorized. In addition, note that the application is also preparing a function allowing the use of usernames rather than telephone numbers, thus reinforcing the confidentiality of exchanges.
