By focusing on roguelike and a rather unique artistic direction, The Rogue Prince of Persia clearly had the ambition to breathe a little fresh air on the franchise after the appreciated and already refreshing Prince of Persia : The Lost Crown released at the beginning of the year in early access. The problem is that the software designed by Evil Empire (who also worked on Dead Cells) does not arouse the desired excitement: at the time of writing these lines, we are still talking about a handful of players connected simultaneously (only 15 to be precise) which should not satisfy anyone within the developer and the French publisher. In short, the alarm bell has already been sounded and here is the Second Act, which intends to bring back The Rogue Prince of Persia of the almost dead.
The Second Act will therefore take the form of a huge update with a rather unique specificity: a change in artistic direction. Singular case for a game which it is already possible to play (but still not released in version 1.0), the developers therefore present revamped graphics, which abandon the purple tones for a wider range of colors, warmer and certainly more accessible , while keeping visible pencil strokes everywhere and densifying the environments.
This artistic evolution will also be accompanied by content that we are told will be neither more nor less than doubled: new biomes to discover, new bosses and enemies to face, a brand new scripted arc (as well as a narrative “tweaked” for Act 1), options for playing comfort including several save locations and even a translation into German, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.
A substantial program which will therefore be delivered on November 21, 2024: remember that the title is only available on PC (at least for the moment) with a price of 19.99 euros.
