Thanks to the “Explore Along Your Route” feature, Google Maps users will be able to have a clear overview of the different points of interest along a route. Cafes, panoramic views, restaurants, hotels…, the driver can add different stops during his trip.
Google Maps announced on his blog the deployment of a new feature called “Explore along your route”. To be more precise, this is a major overhaul of a service already offered and known. But the geolocation application now wants to offer a customizable and better organized service.
Thus, by accessing the “Explore along your route” functionality, the user will be able to have a clear overview of the different points of interest located on their route. The functionality will notably indicate panoramic views, top-rated restaurants, hotels, cafes, rest areas, food stores and even gas stations that are on your path.
It will also be possible to filter points of interest. For example, if you only want to see the cafes along your route, simply tap the “Cafes” option.
To take advantage of the “Explore Along Your Route” feature, simply open Google Maps and enter your destination. Then click on “Add stops” to browse all the points of interest on your route. Finally, all you have to do is choose what interests you the most.
This new feature is therefore particularly interesting for road trips, but it can also make a journey that seems boring to you more exciting.
