With its shorter days and numerous cloudy periods, November saps our morale a little each year. But the approaching weekend should give us a little enthusiasm. Forecast.

In short:

  • Maximums between 3° and 5° above seasonal norms;

  • Sunshine present all weekend in southern Quebec;

  • Sunny Saturday in the west, and Sunday in the Quebec region;

  • The east of the province is unlucky: clouds dominate all weekend;

A grayer gray

The shorter days make November feel like the grayest month of the year. The first two weekends of the month confirmed this impression, at least in Montreal. The first weekend of the month started under clouds, with slightly cool temperatures. On November 9 and 10, we were treated to a little sunshine on Saturday, but the rain took over the next day.

WEEKEND2

L’exception

Next weekend will undoubtedly be the most beautiful of the month so far. On Saturday, the sun will shine brightly across the entire portion of the province west of the National Capital. A few traces of clouds could be seen in Abitibi, but for the Laurentians, Outaouais, the greater Montreal region and Estrie, the clouds will be conspicuous by their absence. We are talking about eight hours of sunshine for the west of the province, and nine for southern Quebec. The Quebec region, Saguenay and Bas-Saint-Laurent, Gaspésie and the North Shore will be under the influence of clouds.

WEEKEND3

The east is unlucky

On Sunday, a system will begin to be noticed in the west of the territory. The sun will be less present in Abitibi and Témiscamingue. The Laurentians, the greater Montreal region, Mauricie, the Quebec region of Estrie, Beauce and Saguenay will be able to stock up on vitamin D, the sun will be there all day long. The famous boomerang system will continue to cover the sky in the east, however. Rain should only fall on the Basse-Côte-, but the Gaspésie, the Haute-Côte-Nord and part of the Bas-Saint-Laurent will have to endure overcast skies.

WEEKEND4

Softer

The maximums will be a little above seasonal norms. For Quebec and Montreal, the mercury will reach between 7° and 9° Saturday and Sunday. In Val-d’Or, the maximum will be 4°, which is more pleasant than the average for this date, which is around the freezing point. In Saguenay, we will be closer to seasonal norms with a maximum between 2° and 3°. For a large part of the population, it is therefore an ideal weekend to spend time outside, before having to put on their boots and winter coat.
