More order: WhatsApp offers a practical new function

A simple update makes it easier to manage chats on WhatsApp. Relatives should now complain less often about late responses.

Until now, you had to painfully go through conversations to find forgotten messages. With this feature, just a glance at the chat list is enough.

A common scenario: you type a message in a hurry, get distracted, then realize hours later that the message was never sent. This is precisely the problem that WhatsApp is tackling with a new feature.

The messaging service has introduced a draft option that highlights unsent messages. The update is now available for all iOS and Android users.

If the message is finally sent, the marking disappears, and the message is displayed normally.

This new feature is mainly aimed at people who talk a lot and are often interrupted when they write. Until now, you had to painfully go through conversations to find forgotten messages. With this feature, just a glance at the chat list is enough.

This green indication alerts you to unsent messages.

Lists provide even more order

The revised list feature also provides more structure. Inspired by the chat filter that WhatsApp introduced earlier this year, this development allows discussions to be classified into personalized categories.

Users can organize their chats into categories such as “Family,” “Work,” or “Friends,” making important conversations quickly accessible.

To create a list, simply click on the “+” symbol in the filter bar of the “Chats” tab. Existing lists can be edited or deleted by pressing and holding them.

Users can add both individual chats and group conversations. Categories appear clearly in the filter bar and remain accessible at all times.
