Launch of a new Anker charger (240 W, 4 ports) with GaN technology

The Anker charger (240W, 4 ports) is now available worldwide. The GaN charging accessory is currently exclusive to the Apple store. Rumors began circulating at the beginning of the year, and an image was leaked in early November.

The charger (240W, 4 ports) has many similarities with the older Anker 749 Prime 240W GaN Desktop Charger (4 ports). The main difference is in the ports, since the new accessory has four USB-C outputs, while the old device had three USB-C outputs and one USB-A output. The top USB-C output delivers up to 140W of power, with the other three delivering up to 100W. When all four ports are in use, the combined maximum power of 240W is split as follows: 140W, 50W, 30W and 20W. Additionally, the product features ActiveShield 2.0 technology for frequent temperature checks.

Although the design and dimensions are identical, 10.6 × 7.8 × 3.5 cm (~4.2 x 3.0 x 1.4 inches), the two chargers are available in different colors; the new Anker Charger is white, while the older 749 has a dark metallic gray finish. You can now buy the Anker charger (240W, 4 ports) on the Apple store for $129.95/£129.95/€149.95. For comparison, the Anker 749 Prime 240W GaN Desktop Charger (4 Ports) retails for $139.99 / £149.99 / €169.99.
