The Net5.5G Pioneer Award Ceremony was successfully held at the Net5.5G IP Smart Network Summit themed “Accelerating Net5.5G, Towards Intelligence” at the 10th Global Forum on very high speed (UBBF 2024), organized jointly by the United Nations Broadband Commission, the World Broadband Association (WBBA) and Huawei. This award, awarded by AICTO and the IPv6 Forum to the winners of the first Net5.5G & IPv6 innovation competition for the Arab-African region, recognizes their advances in innovation and commercial deployment of Net5 technology. 5G.
As Internet services rapidly expand globally, we are going through a significant period of digital transformation. At the same time, the advent of Net5.5G makes possible a more powerful and scalable network infrastructure, propelling us into the era of artificial intelligence. Key Net5.5G technologies, such as 400GE, SRv6 and network slicing, received attention at the Net5.5G & IPv6 Enhanced Summit held during the Africa IP GALA in May 2024. opportunity, AICTO and the IPv6 Forum launched the first Net5.5G & IPv6 innovation competition for the Arab world and Africa, with the aim of to encourage operators to design and deploy these technologies on their active networks, thus stimulating the emergence of new services.
At the Net5.5G IP Smart Network Summit held as part of UBBF 2024 in Turkey, operators shared innovative examples of Net5.5G IP network evolution and digital transformation industrial. These use cases demonstrated that the global deployment of Net5.5G is accelerating, with notable improvements in network quality, operational efficiency and substantial service growth. They also showed that the digital transformation of the industry is intensifying, with a diversification of revenue sources.
The Net5.5G Pioneer Award ceremony was the highlight of the summit. During this event, four operators – GROUPE TELECOM ALGERIE, Libyana Libya, CVT Cape Verde, and Hatif Libya – were rewarded for their achievements in Net5.5G deployment. This award not only recognizes their achievements in deploying Net5.5G, but also aims to inspire other operators to accelerate the deployment of key Net5.5G capabilities such as 400GE, SRv6, network slicing. and the Network Digital Map. The event attracted the attention of many industry professionals and experts, marking an important milestone in promoting the development of networks in the Arab and African regions.
The success of the Net5.5G Pioneer Award ceremony marks a solid step forward for the development of networks in these regions. In the future, we hope that more operators will actively engage in the deployment of Net5.5G, jointly contributing to advancing regional network infrastructure and providing a more convenient and efficient digital experience for people in the region. This collective effort will accelerate the evolution towards Net5.5G and pave the way for a promising future for African countries.
