Diablo 4 will finally add a new class that will allow players to be “an ultimate predator”

The long-awaited Diablo 4 expansion, Vessel of Hatred, will arrive on October 8, 2024 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series. Fans can’t wait to experience this dark new storyline, which was revealed through a breathtaking cinematic at the Xbox Games Showcase at Summer Game Fest 2024. This DLC will introduce new high-level PvE activities, the return pets, and a new class: Sacresprits. It is these which interest us today, because we learn from Rod Fergusson himself that their development was strongly encouraged by the Diablo Immortal classes!

Meeting with the mysterious Sacresprits

Described by Blizzard teams as “the ultimate predator”, the Scaresprit intrigues the community. The class, which is part of Sanctuary lore, will mix ancient magic and the powers of the deep jungle. The atmosphere of this class will therefore be mystical to say the least, because this ancient civilization of warriors comes from Nahantu, the new region of the expansion. For the Windows Central site, Rod Fergusson, the boss of Diablo, described it as a class bringing a completely new style of play to the Diablo 4 universe.

“While paying homage to the past, we wanted to create something completely different. That’s what Holy Spirit represents. It’s an acknowledgment of our exploration of Nahantu, and we wanted a class that fit seamlessly into this new design is part of where you’re going, you know it’s one theme, and that’s what played a big role.”

According to leaks, which has not yet been officially confirmed by the developers of Vessel of Hatred, the Holy Spirit will likely have four skill categories: Sky, Earth, Forest, and Plains. The class would therefore have a natural inclination for abilities linked to nature, and its wild environment.

A class created thanks to Diablo Immortal?

Indeed, Blizzard Entertainment’s previous work on Immortal would have been very useful in the creation of Sacresprit. In an interview given to GamesRadar+Rod Fergusson, the boss of the Diablo franchise, explained that the launch of the Blood Knight in Immortal in 2023 gave him and the team, the confidence to embark on creating this class. These elements of Diablo Immortal were ambitious and unusual, and that motivated the developers of Vessel of Hatred to pursue their most unique ideas.

“I think I was more nervous when we created the Blood Knight for Immortal, because it was the first new class in ten years. For me, it was like, ‘Oh, wow. We’re on the verge to create a new class in ten years’, you know? Then when I saw how the Blood Knight was received, I was like, ‘Oh, okay, people are open to new ideas and. to new ways of doing things Then we released the Tempête, which was also a huge success.
