We have new figures from Sony for the three-month period preceding September 30, 2024. The PlayStation division said it expects record operating profit for its current fiscal year. The company also reported that sales in its Game and Network Services division increased 12% from the previous year, to approximately $7 billion. Big story of the moment, the company shipped 3.8 million PlayStation 5 consoles during this three-month period, a drop of 29% compared to the same period last year for a total of 65.5 million copies. Problem, the PS5 is still a few million units late on the PS4 for the same period of existence. The release of the PS5 Pro should probably provide a boost to try to overtake the old generation.
