The event has established itself as the largest shopping operation in the world. Every November 11, China celebrates singles. Launched by Alibaba in 2009, this unprecedented avalanche of sales triggers a real rush of Internet users on online sales sites. But, this year, this unmissable event started almost a week earlier on the major Chinese e-commerce platforms, in the hope of reviving consumption in a context of overall gloom in the country.
As a symbol, Alibaba canceled its grand gala on November 11, usually celebrated with great fanfare with Chinese and global stars like Taylor Swift or Scarlett Johansson. Usually, the event, followed by hundreds of millions of viewers, broadcasts live the exorbitant figures of sales reached, culminating in tens of billions of euros in business volume collected.
